Bridging the gap between the 'retreat experience’ and the daily lives of young people

We believe in the power of virtuous friendships when it comes to young people staying engaged with their faith during their teenage years and young adult lives. Many young people say that Youth 2000 in-person events help them to develop good Christian friendships and so we are developing ways to keep building on these connections and help young people to have community as they go back into their daily lives.
Youth 2000’s WhatsApp digital community has become a place where discipleship is normalised, life events are celebrated, new people are welcomed, and young people are encouraging other young people to grow in their Catholic faith together.

THE UPPER ROOM PROJECT
The Upper Room Project is a series of eight video sessions (designed and produced by Youth 2000) that explores what it means to be a missionary disciple, through prayer, friendship and teaching. The course is run online by the Youth 2000 team and volunteers, and sessions can be shared with groups who would like to run their own Upper Room Project together in-person.
This course is aimed at anyone aged 16-35 who has had an initial encounter and would like to explore their faith further.
FORMATION PROGRAMMES
Alpha Online
An open invitation to anyone who is curious about the Christian faith to explore it in a no-pressure environment online. This 8-week online course is hosted by the Youth 2000 team and led by the Mission Team, providing opportunities for evangelisation and fellowship.
The Culture Series
A live and interactive online series that offers a Catholic perspective on current hot topics.

Discipleship Year
The Discipleship Year is an online fortnightly formation programme for young adult leaders focusing on spiritual, intellectual, human and pastoral formation. In addition to the programme below, each member of the Discipleship Team journeys alongside their small group throughout the year, and has the opportunity to be mentored by a member of our Mission Partners.
